Night Cream Free
I did an experiment last year after something I read in a skin and body care book that I thought was worth sharing. The information had to do with the cellular respiration that takes place through the pores of our skin, especially at night. This is one of the processes our bodies perform to rid the body of toxins, aswellas the uptake of oxygen. The idea that this process is inhibited when you apply cream to your face I thought was worth an experiment. This is what I found.
My skin: 30 years old, dry with a few flakes, and a little sensitive
My routine then:
wash in the am with handmade soap, tone with rose or neroli water, moisturize, and sometimes use a sunscreen, wash in the pm with the same soap, tone, and apply night cream
The experiment:
The see what, if anything would happen if I skipped the night cream.
Expectations?
I was pretty skeptical. My skin is fairly dry and I was really expecting this condition to get worse. I vowed to give it a week before having an opinion.
The results:
My skin actually became softer, not as many dry flakes, and my pores looked and felt cleaner. It's been over a year now and I don't really think of my skin being dry anymore, and I save some money. Just think how much money department stores would loose each year if women (and men) stopped using it.
